Howdy Everybody!

The Sonora Pass Wagon Train will have an entry again this year in the Mother Lode Round Up parade Saturday May 10. We've got 3 wagons to fill up and are looking for people to ride. A few outriders will make a good turn out. Gold Rush attire please. This parade is the second largest parade in the whole state of California- good time always!

There is no fee to ride the wagons!!! Your Gold Rush attire gets you on the wagons, so get out yer bonnets and suspenders and put on yer boots!

The teamsters will need help getting everything ready too so if you can come out the day before to wash horses, wipe down the harnesses and wagons that would be a great help too.

Please call Don Rumsey at 209-928-1041 for more information, times and places to meet. Lloyd, George and Mike will be our teamsters.

Wagons Ho for 10th Anniversary Ride of Sonora Pass Wagon Train

Twain Harte, Ca. – January 5, 2007– The concrete jungle of honking horns and big rigs will give way to covered wagons, horses, and over 100 participants who participate in the 10th Anniversary ride of The Sonora Pass Wagon Train in the summer of 2007.

History will come alive for all to see, as the wagon trains hit the scenic trail for eleven days, August 22-31, 2007.  The wagon train will roll across 76 miles over eleven days beginning in Pickle Meadows, located on the east side of the Sonora Pass just west of Highway 395 and ending in Twain Harte, CA.

“The Wagon Train has been able to provide an amazing history event for the community and area visitors,” said Willy Evans, creator of the initial Wagon Train event in 1996.  “Since its inception, hundreds of families have had the opportunity to experience first hand the pioneers’ way of life,” she added.

The adventure-seeking participants get to live the life of real pioneers - from meals cooked over open fires, to wearing 1850’s clothing, to gathering around the nightly campfires for story telling and music.

Reservations for the ride are on a first come basis.  For more information on this historical reenactment of cross-country travel during Gold Rush times, contact Willy Evans at 209.586-3007 or Sandy Asquith.
